Beschrijving

Deze 2 of meerjarige plant uit de anjerfamilie is vrij algemeen in Nederland en België. de witte kroonbladen zijn overdag redelijk gekreukeld zijn, terwijl ze in de avond en nacht, maar ook op donkere vochtige dagen mooi open staan. De bloemen geuren zoet en trekken nachtvlinders aan voor de bestuiving en bevruchting.

Avondkoekoeksbloem is een tot 1 m hoge, algemeen voorkomende, plant met behaarde stengels.

Zaai vanaf april

De bloei is van mei tot juli

In een zadenzakje zitten ongeveer 30 zaadjes.
