Beschrijving

Deze meerjarige vetplant wordt ook wel eeuwig leven genoemd en wordt 5 cm hoog. Muurpeper stelt geen hoge eisen aan de grond. De plant komt voor op droge zandgrond, tussen stoeptegels langs kaden, muren of tussen rotsen, vaak op kalhoudende grond.

De blaadjes hebben een scherpe, peperige smaak, vandaar de naam.

Muurpeper bloeit van mei tot augustus met felgele 1 cm grote bloemen, waar bijen en vlinders op af komen.

Zaai in april, mei of juni.
