Beschrijving

Zomer- of zoete alsem, ook wel qing hao komt overal ter wereld voor, maar in het wild niet in Nederland.  In China wordt de plant al jaren gebruikt en sinds 1980 ongeveer wordt ze ook in de moderne geneeskunde gebruikt om koorts te behandelen.

Ze heeft varenachtige bladeren en gele bloemen, die ruiken naar kamfer en de plant kan wel 2 m hoog worden.

Zaai tussen maart en juni.

De bloei is van september tot november.

In een zadenzakje zitten ongeveer 30 zaadjes.
